timsfly Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 First day back fishing, the doc released me yesterday and told me I was cured not to bother him again, and he told me to start fishing and doing anything I wanted, except no lifting, so I'll have to take at least 1 more week off from work Fished about 3 hours, and caught 22 trout, just your average trout but it was better than having to just sit around the house. The water was clear and there were lots of fish in the river, the upper end by the lodge was just loaded. Caught all of my fish on a #14 green ant, Joe Bacon was fishing below me, and he was catching them on a green ant and later on a tan beetle. Had a great time, it was good to get back to fishing. Terry Beeson Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I KNOW what you MEAN, Tim... Good to see you back on the water so soon... If they are generating Friday, can I come over and watch you catch some bigguns? I told my wife my doctor told me not to lift anything heavier than a nightgown tail... I don't think she believed me... timsfly Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 If the water is down on friday at taney, I might just fish over there. It takes only 50 minutes to get to the the park and it is only 45 minutes to taney, and I like fishing them both. But come to the park on friday if they are running water, I plan on fishing a few hours everyday, untill I go back to work, fishing is my rehab Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop

Members rvconrad Posted April 18, 2007 Members Posted April 18, 2007 Good to have you back fishing Tim. Dana and I caught over 40 fish each yesterday afternoon fishing from 1-5. We caught all of our fish on olive woolies #14. See you at the River, Ralph Conrad
timsfly Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Steve would probably help, if I could take the chatter I need to hire a kid for a week or two just to remove the fish, it was most difficult releasing fish yesterday, but well worth the discomfort. It was so nice to be back on the river after 2 weeks of not fishing, I'm lucky, I read this forum everyday and it kept me in touch with everybody, and it was good to read the fishing reports. It really helped to keep me going. I hate to but I'm going to rehab again today (fishing) It really helps, rehab is the best. Thanks to everybody out there for their thoughts and prayers in my speedy recovery. See ya on the river. Steve Smith Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Chatter? Lord Tim, with you no one can get a word in edgewise! Dano; Tim don't need no stinking net to land those suckers he catches, but it's good to have him back [even though he's a genuine pain in the butt]. Work has kept me away from the water, but there are a bunch of fish in the river so I guess I'll have to stop by this afternoon. Seemed like last weekend a lot of patterns were working. My fishing co-hort Bob Garrison was wearing them out on a purple 'bou leech home tied pattern. Yes, I said purple. He did well on a prince nymph stripping through the seams. Members rvconrad Posted April 19, 2007 Members Posted April 19, 2007 I spent the afternoon at the river again today. The fish were still hitting about everything I threw at them. Didn't catch as many as yesterday, but had a great time again.
