Members Alumacraft190 Posted March 14, 2018 Members Posted March 14, 2018 Thinking about coming in next weekend from Wichita. Curious how the striper have been and whether people feel the lake is stabilized from the flooding or if I’m better off pushing back 30 days and taking my chances it doesn’t flood again? Figure I’ll look this weekend at forecast and what you all think to decide. Also has anyone been having any luck netting bait or was the shad kill pretty significant? Thanks everybody for your insights, this rookie is kind of spooked after some rough weather outings last few years.
chi0082 Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 It's suppose to rain again tonight and this weekend. And I expect we'll get a lot more come April. The lake will continue to rise if we get more rain. I normally fish when I have time h3ll or high water. I don't always get to fish when I want so I make the best of every situation. The stripers are running upriver like they do every year trying to spawn. Finding them is the hard part. They don't stay in one spot very long. The rain won't help since it'll create runoff into the lake and dirty up the water. I'd wait 30 days.
