Members hooked79 Posted April 23, 2007 Members Posted April 23, 2007 Great Forum. I still pretty new to the fly fishing world. I'm mostly self taught. I do however have many years of whitewater kayaking/rafting experience. My friends don't share my love for fishing so I'm hoping to meet some people here that would be interested meeting for float trips. It is much easier to shuttle with another person. I try to go out at least one time each week and I know the MO waterways like the back of my hand.

Terry Beeson Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Welcome to the forum. There are several folks around Springfield who yak and canoe with a fly rod... I'm sure you'll find a few on this forum and maybe even one or two in the St Louis area who do the same... And welcome to your relatively new passion.... fly fishing... You're now spoiled for life... Members hooked79 Posted April 23, 2007 Author Members Posted April 23, 2007 Thanks for the welcome. You're right about the "spoiled for life" Now I just gotta get my friends "spoiled" too.
Thom Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Hooked 79: Welcome to the OAF forum. Great place to learn about fly fishing and tying. I do both and everyone here is more than willing to share their knowledge even though sometimes it is accompanied with a little fun poking back and forth. I also live in Ofallon MO. Love to fish Taneycomo and have two trips scheduled this summer. Will probally go other times. I usually pull my boat down. PM me if you are interested in hooking up at Taney sometime. By looking at your bio it appears that you work at Scheafers auto body. Thom Harvengt
gonefishin Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Hooked. There is a fine line between hobby and mental illness I think that is why most of us fishermen are the way we are. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
Members hooked79 Posted April 27, 2007 Author Members Posted April 27, 2007 You're right about that! I'm still pretty new to the sport but I'm already showing the symptoms!
