Water is in fine shape below town, fished the dairy farm section, someone was ahead of me on the conservation side. Landed 4, 1 about 4" long, 1 about 10" long and two about 12" long, and broke off a real nice one every bit of 16 or 17" hooked it on a conehead muddler type fly. Hooked a total of 7 landed 4, caught two on a #8 black beetle, 1 on a brown bugger and one on the cone head muddler before I broke it off. Got most of my strikes on the beetle.

Good to know there are still some nice fish in Crane. I need to get down there to fish it. Would you say a 3wt is sufficient? I aim to grab a 3wt outfit pretty quick for the summer trout season ;)

Yes a 3wt will work great if there is not to much wind, today would have been perfect for a 2 or 3 wt, but I used my 4wt, it was in the truck ready to go.

Wow, I am excited. All I need to do is convince the missus to move down around Springfield, and I will be set!
