We can all throw CRAP out there from the internet. Whether or not Zebra mussles feed on human waste was not the point. My Wheaties are 4 mm in diameter! So what!

Again we're back to the big boat owners who do not take responsibility for what they play with!

Most boats over 30ft are considered ocean worthy vessels.

I hope people enjoy watching their kids swim in LOZ.

Some of you shpuld read the article again!!!!! The law has been around for years and the pleasure boat sector has been exempted, the re newing of the law does not exempt pleasure boaters from paying the price along with the ocean going vessels it was meant to regulate thw way I under stand what i read and saw on the tape is that if water comes out of your boat be it bilge almost all bassboats have a bilge pump and who is to say that if you wring out a towel from the bottom of your aluminum pond jumper you are not liable as well, the Government has a chance to collect a permit fee rom every boat owner and it if we do not right this oversight they will. I for one have sent my letter and am monitoring closely the out come.

To have a true friend is wonderful, to have a true friend who fishes with you....... priceless

Having a bilge pump doesn't mean you have a bilge...much less bilge water in a hold. And just because some judge somewhere thinks otherwise, does not mean the entire gov't is going to agree with him/her. I had a bilge pump on my 16' duck boat. But there was no bilge. The pump was for evacuating water during heavy rains, from the dog getting in/out of the boat repeatedly, etc. Kept the boat riding higher in the water so I could run shallower...period. And if you are worried about the EPA testing the water quality of what you wring out of a towel while canoeing, you really don't know much about the EPA...or water quality issues.

Now, if your boat DOES have a bilge and DOES evacuate tainted water, then you should be trying to do everything you can to make sure that water is as clean as possible when it is evacuated. Gov't compliance with the Clean Water Act should be a LOWER standard than the one you self-impose. And you should be glad to know that EVERY OTHER recreational boater in that category is FORCED to comply also.

Do you have any idea what would be involved in the EPA regulating every recreational watercraft in America? We aren't even willing to consider deporting 12 million CRIMINAL ALIENS! Do you REALLY think the gov't has any intention of inspecting, certifying, and regulating 30 million or so watercraft?

I haven't been on the east end of LOZ in a few years, so you got me there. What lake did they move all those 40-50' footers too? :(

I just didn't figure anything under 100+ feet as being a craft worthy of visiting foreign ports. It was a DUH moment. Foreign ports could be Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas ect. I was thinking more along the lines of visiting Europe or Spain.

I would rather be fishin'.

Thousands of Floridians and Bahamians traverse the sea between the two in 24' pontoon boats just like the ones everyone uses on the lakes around here. You see them coming and going when you fly in a small plane from say Merritt Island to Marsh Harbor, etc.

Like I said, when I made that post I was thinking in terms of crossing the big water to Europe or some such place. After posting I realized it could mean the Bahamas ect.
