Id like to see the Best of the west sounds like those guys can fling that thing pretty far!

Can anyone give me some information on the national conclaves casting games? Such as where you do it and whats an average cast for each and every group. Thanks

I remember trying to do a qualifying cast (well before I relearnt to cast) for one of the qualifying events for the ISE shows (Best Of The West) it was the year of the infamous white stick. Very sad result.

Incidentally Chad johnson (one of guides and shop guys) were messing around with a TCR and an Extreme Distance 105' line. Fist time I measured over 100' (103' and a bit) Chad hit 106' and a bit. I still say his was wind assisted LMAO.

Think we are going to be doing a bit more of this messing around at the store with this stuff. One of the real tricks is knowing just how much line to carry without losing linespeed. Im still learning LOl

I definatly agree that you have to know where to stop with the line to know how to shoot it corectly... my cast was definatly wind assisted.... AGAINST ME!!! lol alot of what I saw with the distance was alot of people getting it out 60 ft then trying to pick it up... big mistake.. or at least that is for me....

Alright well the 2nd competition was 96ft (they rounded down ) and I did very well with my Accuracy and the CCI peoples really liked my casting ^^

I guess I forgot to mention how I placed overall. I got 1st in men division with a total of 5200 points and placed 7th with everyone including the "pro" division. I won an echo rod (9ft 5wt) and a hat.

It was really nice to get to meet all of the contestants that I was up against.

Im looking forward to southern council! I hope the rest of you are in that to see how good our casting is compared to each other!

ACA/IGFA CASTING TOURNAMENT!

Dear Allen,

Time is running out! ACA will be holding the ACA/IGFA Casting Tournament headquartered at the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum in Dania Beach, Florida, on February 2-4 2008!

IGFA is located across from Ft. Lauderdale and shares land with Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and the Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant.

Casters from 8 states and Canada have confirmed. Our Chicago, Cincinnati and Lexington ACA Clubs are coming to host, equip and help run the event. Registration deadline is extended to Jan. 15th.; afterward, you may register on-site before events.

When it's freezing in Chicago...

We will be offering a combination of accuracy and distance events with plug and fly.

Saturday Feb. 2nd- starts with exhibition cast-offs at IGFA Headquarters with champions Steve Rajeff, Henry Mittel and other top casters.

Sunday Feb. 3rd- three distance events at Markham Park, Sunrise Fl

Monday Feb. 4th- three accuracy events at Tiger Tail Lake, a block west of IGFA. The 5wt Combination Accuracy & Distance Event will be held on the lawn next to IGFA also on Monday.
