Kayser Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Cool pattern, but whats the wing made out of? And would i need a burner mold to make them? Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Jeremy Hunt Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Kayser, It's real simple. All you need is scotch tape and a hen saddle. Here's steps on how to tie it also. http://www.taneycomotrout.com/photo3_1.html Good luck!!! Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog
motroutbum Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 that is sweet. Im gonna have to try those out this week cause the caddis are gonna start booming. There are two types of people. Those who dream dreams and wish, then there are the do'ers. I am a do'er!
Terry Beeson Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Jeremy, You been hangin' out with Earl Stanek? You can make nice craw pinchers like that as well... Learned that one from Earl... Terry Beeson Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Earl is a great fly tyer and retired from 3M years ago. He uses a lot of 3M products in his fly tying including using (Has to be Scotch tape per Earl.. ) Scotch tape on the back of feathers to keep the fibers together when making wings or claws. He's in his late 70s early 80s, lives in Cotter, AR and LIVES to tie realistic flies. You should look him up at Conclave or Sowbug. Very innovative, interesting, and delightful fellow for sure... gonefishin Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 This has to be one of my best caddis patterns for fooling trout after trout. I just got done tying a bunch for this seasons fishing. Can't wait to use them. That is a great looking fly. Wouldn't want to send a hand full my way would ya? I would rather be fishin'. gonefishin Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 You're not thinkin' of becomin' one of those "fly fishermen" are you, GF? Heh heh. I started fly fishing when I was 14. I aint a gonna tell you what year that was but I will give you a hint. The term PC did not refer to computers or politics. I would rather be fishin'.
