I will be staying at RockBridge Mo for the next couple of days before we head to Taney and was wondering where would be a good spot to try on the white if we had a few hours? If I read the maps correctly the dam on BS should only be about an hours drive from where I'm staying just outside of Ava. Havn't ever really fished the White (only once at the dam for a few hours on my way to Norfork) and wondered if anyone had any suggestions? I'm thinking that sometime on Thursday we might drive over that way and fish the tailwater for a few hours. Is the generation recording somewhat accurate? Is anything over 1 generator too much to fish while wading at BS? Thanks for any input I can get in the short time left.

DD,

If you are in the Ava area, yes you are about an hour from BSD. The generation recording is usually pretty accurate, but not 100 percent. PLUS you have to realize that the BSD tailwaters are long and when they turn on, it takes a long time to get to, say, the confluence with the Norfork. As well, when they turn off, the same is true in reverse.

I would not recommend wading in more than one unit, but some guys do wade with two depending on where. Then again, those guys are use to the river... and you and I are not.

Depending on generation, the dam is a good spot. I prefer the east side access, but some like to access from above the golf course on the west side (steep, rocky trail)... Of course, there is Wildcat and the water around Cotter.

If all else fails, call Gary Flippin at Rim Shoals Resort and ask about the water down there. Always a good spot to fish... And Gary can look at the generation graphs and tell you where the water is low and high...

Thanks for the info Terry. We'll be leaving KC at 5:00 tomorrow morning and headed that way. I looked up the number for Rim Shoals and put it in my cell, I'll check the generation # and there before I head down to fish. Even though I'll fish Taney with generation I don't know the White well enough to fish in the same situation so I'll play it safe and stay at RockBridge if there's more than one unit online.
