Tightline Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Just wondering how the water is,and if anyone has fished recently.
timsfly Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Fished a few hrs down there today, it was nice, windy but good fishing, I fished a #8 black beetle and caught several nice fish on that pattern, I used a green/grizzly crackleback most of the day and did very well, probabaly caught 15 on the crackleback, and I fished a small #22 zebra midge for a bit trying to catch a 14" brown, I caught him but he was only about 12" but he was sure pretty, water is about normal and clear. Tightline Posted June 7, 2007 Author Posted June 7, 2007 Tim, sounds like you did pretty good, you are for sure The Roaring River Fishmeister. Good report, thanks.
chub minnow Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Does anyone know what the water level is like below the park? I'm thinking of fishing from the park down to the cemetery. If the water is high enough I might take my float to carry all of that "essential" gear you need when the wife is with you. Oh yeah, and how's the fishing in the white ribbon area been the last few days? Any browns down there?
timsfly Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Roaring river is not high enough for a good float right now, there would be a lot of dragging. There are a few browns down that way, a few good sized ones. The recent rains missed us for the most part, we received 3/4" of rain last night. The river did not flood or raise much, water is still clear. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
drew03cmc Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 I cannot wait for three weeks from ...today! Get to come down, hit the best trout fishing area in the state, and stay for two days...NOT NEARLY LONG ENOUGH. Andy
