Members Ralph Vest Posted June 8, 2007 Members Posted June 8, 2007 I have lived in Christian Co, most of my life (retired), but I just do not know about Smallmouth in Taney. Purchased a boat in March 07, last time I owned a boat, 30 years ago. I now have time to fish. I like Taney, it is close to home, and a good year around lake. Can anyone advise about the Smallmouth? This is my first time using this forum...hope it works
tippet7 Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I have caught smallies down in the Bull Creek area, i think the area is the cornfield (someone correct me if i am wrong) but there are some bluffs back there and some docks on the other side that i have them in. the only thing that bothered me about being back there were the snakes. i had one drop from a tree into my boat a few years ago and after i swam back to the boat, i resumed fishing You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
Terry Beeson Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Can't help you much with the Samallies in Taney, but welcome to the forum... and the madness... Leonard Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 There are alot of smallies in Taneycomo... Just nobody can ever find them...LOL.. I have caught 3 (all over 17in.. biggest 22in).. all were caught on a stickbait in running water between July-Sept downtown Branson... before they took out the gravel bar island by the Branson Landing.. when they generated water there was a nice pocket of still water.. I pick them all up in that area.. if you were "after" smallies.. like Tippet said.. just inside creek mouths .. like turkey creek, roark, bull, ect.... My best guess would be to get some diving crankbaits running 7-10' deep and hit the mouths of the creeks late after noon till dark... Leonard http://www.taneycomonights.com
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Don't overlook Long Creek arm of Table Rock, it has a good population of Smallies. Its also easy to reach. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
