Members itsdesignateddave Posted June 15, 2007 Members Posted June 15, 2007 I have been down to Tanecomo twice now. The soon to be wife's family has their annual family reunion at one the resorts there. They used to go to Brill's - demolished, then riverlake - demolished, and this year we were at trout hollow (hopefully not demolished by next year!) I caught all of one rainbow last year in several hours worth of fishing over 4 days. This year I easily limited out each day, along with several family members who decided to join me this year. I have been browsing this forum for several weeks in acticipation of actually catching fish this year, and I did just that. I would say I caught somewhere around 60-70 fish, and would have had another 20-30 if I had bought a net earlier in the week. I have never picked up a fly fishing rod, but spinning reels are the way I fish for everything around here. If I stick around long enough I bet I will have one in hand next year so I can go to the trophy area and try my hand. All I want to do is catch one brown and I will be happy. I do have one fish picture to share, but I will post it in the tanecomo forum. Thanks again for all the help!
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Welcome Dave, Glad to hear you had a good trip. This is a great place to visit (and stay awhile.) Alot of good tips and friendly conversation happens here. Again, welcome to the funny farm and I look forward to seeing you in the trophy area next year with a long stick in hand. Terry Beeson Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Welcome to the madhouse!!!... and to fly fishing (early welcome) and be prepared to be hooked and addicted to the long rod. OH... and if Trout Hollow is demolished, please don't stay at Phil's place... we wanna keep him around.... (But don't tell him we said that ) TIGHT LINES, YA'LL "There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process." - Paul O’Neil
