cpriest Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Hey guys this weekend i plan on meeting a friend to fish Norfork for the first time. Im just wondering what a good arsenal would be to come down with. I have been keeping up with the reports but just not sure what exactly what all i might need. Im used to fishing beaver tailwaters so i have a decent midge, scud, and sowbug collection. Any and all tips will be appreciated, thanks! Also planning on camping up there, anyone have a good spot w/ showers? I think we are going to stay at quarry park.
Terry Beeson Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 My opinion - Add some Copper Johns to your arsenal if you don't alread have them, SJWs if the water is up or even if it's not... Then some soft hackles and the good ol' standby Wooly Bugger. Wouldn't hurt to have some sculpin patterns if you want to venture out at night in search of the next world record... In the "scud" and "sowbug" line, don't forget about Trout Crack... I've done well on the Norfork with them... John Berry Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Quarry park does have showers. It is a great place to camp. I have stayed there many times. I would add pheasant tails, sulphur parachutes and norfork beadheads to your fly box. Good luck.
