Thom Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I don't think anyone was agrueing, just stateing how we feel while respecting the opinon of others. I learn a lot from folks with a different opinion than mine. Sometimes when I check into something I find that I was dead wrong about my opinion. I just expect some facts not enuendo. I follow the urban legends and snopes thread on the net and it is amazing how many of the charges that are made against different groups are unfounded. The same stories have been circulating for years the names and place just change occasionally. I worked in the automobile industry for 38 years and read articles about certain issues on blogs and in the paper that I knew to be completely false. I was directly involved with some of the technology so I knew why decisions were made. Many of the writers are influenced by sponsers with big money in publishing their stories with a slant toward a certain conclusion. Lots of facts are often omited to reach favorable or unfavorable decisions. Just remember that many folks like you and I make their living from american businesses. I would certainly not want to be privy to spreading a rumor that could hurt someones lively hood or one of the few american business left.. Unfortunately big business is so diverified that it is difficult to harm their profits by anything we do. It does feel good though to think that I have some power by not buying their products. gonefishin Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I stand for what I say too. I don't use Pepsi products and haven't for years. I meant the part about arguing about anything. I was just joking around about that. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
