Members cisman
We rented a boat at Long Creek Marina this weekend and planning to troll around the banks for anything. Advice on where is best as I’m not familiar with the lake. Have various Hot n Tots and Wiggle Warts.
rps
I do not know Long Creek. Take that into account. Hot'N'Tots and warts are great trolling baits. You will need to let enough line out to tick the bottom but not plow the bottom. Start early and fish very shallow throwing something to the bank. By 9 or 10 am start trolling. Start at ten feet of water and make a pass on each side of a likely looking point or two. Move out to 15 feet. Then try 20 feet. Find a different point and start over. A wart on ten pound mono requires 180 feet of line out to hit 20 feet.and 95 feet to hit 15 feet. 40 feet for 10 feet. Reel one turn of the handle and count how many times the spool rotates. At the same time watch how much line one turn takes in. To measure the feet out watch the spool revolutions and due the math. This time of year, fish are scattered but not nearly as deep as in August. Best of luck to you. vernon, slothman, Hughesy and 2 others
