CMAC Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Got a gauge on the water flow? Say from Bertha to 95HWY. Might do the float or walk up from 95HWY.
Members Fred Posted July 3, 2007 Members Posted July 3, 2007 Hey, CMAC, From the couple of times I've floated that stretch that you told me about down to 95, I'd have to say it'd be a fast float right now. The gauge near Tecumseh shows it's about two feet up still. I floated/fished that stretch one time when that gauge was reading about 4 feet (it's 5.25 as I write this). The water was definitely moving on that day, but fishable. With another foot-plus of water, you'd really be moving and you better be careful. It'll probably be a fun ride through there, but the fishing might be tough. No going back for a second shot at the good holes with that kind of current... Hope this helps. Tight lines, buddy. Stay safe. Fred
CMAC Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 Sorry for the delay. Actually walked up from 95 on the fourth of July. Did manage some nice smallies and goggle eyes. The water was fast and current strong. It made for a nice day on the river. Largest fish came on a small bomber crankbait in crawfish pattern.
