drew03cmc Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 What length and weight fly rod do you recommend for Crane, and all of the other small wild trout streams? Would an 8' 4wt be short enough for all of these places? I would be throwing everything from a #8 BH bugger to a #24 trico. Please help me out as I plan a trip down in the area of Crane in the next month! Thank you! Andy

drew03cmc Posted July 11, 2007 Author Posted July 11, 2007 Thanks Steve! Yeah, I am thinking about grabbing a 6'6 Featherlight for the smaller streams and use the 8' rod for everything else. Andy
Members OnTheFly Posted July 12, 2007 Members Posted July 12, 2007 I use a 6'6" 3wt G series Scott....has worked great on that little stream
timsfly Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I fished crane today with my 6'10" 4wt scott, it always works well for me over there, I almost always fish 7' and shorter at crane. drew03cmc Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 Ok, well I may definitely need to invest in a shorter rod then! Thanks guys. Andy
