Micheal Kyle Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Got down there at about 11 they had just shut the water off I had the place to my self. Fished untill 2am pretty slow I maybe had 10 fish. Thats It. Oh when I was leaving I did talk to a older man that was going by himself he had just got there and seem to be very informed of the whole night fishing gig. He said that he comes down a lot and fishes all by himself. he said that he his brother used to come with him but he died a couple of years back and he has no desire to fish with any one eles. Just hearing him say that made me a little teary eye. We stood there and talked for a long time and he said that he gets on the forum and really enjoys reading most of the fishing reports. He loves how informative that they are and wanted to tell everyone thanks for the info that is posted. I did manage a sneak peak into his fly box looked like he was going only for big fish. A lot of sculpins and huge leechs. Michael To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Terry Beeson Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 OK... Now I'M a bit teary eyed... I admit I miss fishing with some of my buddies from the past. At least I get to see some of the guys from Jonesboro when I'm in Mt. Home for Sowbug or Conclave. But if you read some of my stories, I sure miss fishing and hunting with "Melvin." He doesn't fly fish and I haven't seen him in years. One of the other guys in the band does fly fish, but haven't seen him in years either. I'd really enjoy finding him in the water and re-live some of our "adventures"... But to lose one of them would be a downer. I don't have a brother, but have a couple of cousins who are like brothers to me. They don't fish, but the things we have done in years past would not be the same without them... To heck with the fish... That's what it's all about, guys... Those kinds of friendships... Makes ya stop and think about some of the b!t(hin' and gripin' that we sometimes get lost in here... My apologies to anyone of you online fishing buds I've complained about... Geez... I'm all mushy now... But it's a good mushy... loo10 Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Mush-mush-mush..... But in truth I've lost 3 good friends that I liked to fish with. One was my Dad. A very good man who could really fish. He's been gone 7 years. Sometimes it seems like a lot longer. Id give ANYTHING to fish with him one more time!! The second guy was a friend of mine who's life just got so hectic that he quit fishing. We used to tie flies together & then go try them out. I've asked him many times over the last few years to go again but he just can't seem to make it happen. Maybe he's just moved on. Too bad too....he was a great guy to laugh with. I miss him. Ma....if you read this...call sometime. The third guy basically decided money was more important than our friendship; so he took the cash & I hit the road. After years & years of fishing, drinking port wine, and toking on stogies... we just went our separate ways over money. Friendship lost for a crappy reason. So enjoy the foggy nights, the laughter, and the shovels full of s*** you give & get from your buddies....cause it could vanish. Good fishing all. The big ones are heading upstream.
