Information on Night fishing norfork tailwater. I have fished taney for years, but would need some directions on locations flyies etc. Any help would be appreciated. I ruined my Ozark Trout Tails book which was a great resource for this neck of the woods and have not got a replacement yet.

I like to fish below the Norfork Dam. Nice gravel bottom. If the water comes up they blow the horn. The only other walk in access is the handicap access on river ridge road in Norfork, Arkansas. Be careful and watch the water you cannot hear the horn here. I like to fish big stuff at night woolly buggers, sculpin, or other large streamers. Go there in the day and get the lay of the land. Plan your escape route, take a big net, and a camera with a flash. Good luck!

JB... How's the night fishing on the Norfork lately? Taney has been good, but slowed down the last week or so.

I was guiding today on the Norfork and ran into a couple of guys that fished last night. They caught one smallish between them. That is night fishing. sometimes great sometimes not so!

We fished Norfork for 4 nights about 3 weeks ago. It was very slow except for 1 spot. Not only will I withhold that spot because I didn't "find" that spot, you don't want to try to make the wade if you don't know the area. I wouldn't even wade that spot without the guy who took me there. Very freaking scary wading.

A guy from our group on that past trip just spent a week down there. He said it was slow, even in that spot. He said no big fish either and not many little ones.

Here's a tip - sleep and get up about 2:00 a.m. and fish until sun up. Take all your gear to fish in the day and fish in the early morning before a ton of people get there.
