Terry, did you get to make the St. Vincent Bazaar? I went down awhile and enjoed a great meal. Sort of looked for you, but only having your picture from here to go by I didn't recognize you if we happened to be there at the same time.

Yep... I was there. I was the one complaining there was no beer, hugging all the women, and harassing the Bingo caller... I DID have my fly shirt and Southern Council FFF cap on...

I didn't find out about the Bazzar until late last week. My mom turns 80 tomorrow (Tue) and we went down to celebrate her birthday. Just drove down Saturday afternoon, went to St Vincent, and back home Sunday morning after breakfast.

Those Gangluff boys sure do make a mean BBQ brisket!!! I even won a couple pounds of bacon and my wife won a tool box at Bingo!

Wish I had known you were there. We could have set up to meet.

OH... and my complaints about the lack of beer did score. One of the Gangluff boys directed me to the back of his pickup and a cooler full of Bud Light...

Did see a lot of folks I haven't seen in years....

Funny story... We stopped at Branson to do a little clothes shopping at the outlet store for the kid. At the checkout counter they ask for your zip code. The lady next to us gave hers. It was very familiar. I looked over and called her name... She is from St Vincent... Small world...

Mike

It stands for Federation of Fly Fishers. Its a national organziation with clubs through several regions (councils). The Southern Council includes Arkansas. Each year the annual conclave is held the first week in October in Mountain Home Arkansas.

I might have missed it if you hadn't mentioned it in your post about the night fishing on Taney, where you said you were heading South to Arkansas.

My Dad also turned 80 this year. We celebrated my Mothers 74th birthday today. They are able to still stay at home but their health is very bad and they get lots of help from my wife and I and the home health nurses.

We just got back from the rodeo at Dennard. They hold one every Monday night on top of the hill out behind the Dennard County Store. My daughter is into everything horses. Has a show lined up in Miss. this weekend and a Clinton Anderson clinic. Seems I remember you mentioning your daughter likes the barrels.

You wouldn't happen to know the date of the Bazaar at St. Elizabeths or have a contact that does would you. Have been trying to find the date for it but haven't had any luck yet.

I was at St. Vincents early, in first group in to eat. We were having company (Kids) here at the house later that evening so we didn't get to stay very long. It hadn't totally cranked up good at all the booths.

Thanks Dano! Can anyone attend? How do I get more info?

Mike,

You need to get with the Ozark Fly Fishers in St. Louis:

You don't have to be a member to go to Conclave, but being a member of an FFF club enhances your fly fishing for sure.

Catfish,

We got there around 5:30 and stayed until they drew for the raffle. We had to wait on my sister and BIL to eat, but was worth the wait. I went to school and/or worked with half the people working that meal and the booths or their parents. My mom taught 3/4 of them in school.

I'll try to find out about St E's bazzar... if they still have one...

Glad you made it. Sounds like an old home reunion for you. Guess our times didn't over lap much. We were leaving to get back around the time you all were arriving I guess.

It was a good event.

Terry,

Just joined OFF last month. They offered a fly casting clinic, so I attended and joined. Going to my first meeting tomorrow night! I will ask about it.

Thanks!
