night report for 7/24

[Roaring River Veteran]

A friend of mine and I went last night. We started just before dark and fished till about 11:30pm. approx 2 and a half hours. We had a pretty good night. I had 6 fish and missed several others. 2 keepers and 4 shorts and my buddy had about the same. You should all know that I am not a skilled bass fisherman like many on this site. A good fisherman would probably have caught several more fish. We were setting in about 30 to 40 foot of water casting to the banks on main lake points and in the mouths of creeks and rivers. It seemed like most of the fish were in the 20 to 25 foot range. We threw crank baits till dark and then went to Chompper jigs and salt craws. The best colors were Electric Blue and black with blue flick.
