MADE A TRIP TO THE DAM AT WARSAW THURSDAY, WASNT SURE IF WE COULD TAKE THE HEAT SO WE DIDNT GET THERE UNTIL ABOUT 9:00 IT WAS STILL VERY HOT! STARTED CATCHIG FISH SOON AS WE GOT THERE. TOOK JUST A LITTLE OVER AN HOUR TO CATCH A LIMIT OF GOOD WHITES. HATED TO STOP. WE WENT TO TOWN AND BOUGHT SOME ICE AND ICED THEM DOWN AND LOAFED AROUND UNTIL MIDNIGHT AND STARTED A NEW DAY WENT BACK TO THE SAME SPOT AND SAME START AS BEFORE, JUST A LITTLE SLOWER. ABOUT 1:00 THE BLEW THE HORN IT SCARED ME SO BAD I JUMPED. MUST HAVE SCARED THE FISH TO THEY SEAMED TO QUITE BITING. MOVED AROUND A LITTLE AND STARTED CATCHING FISH AGAIN. FINISHED AROUND 2:00. WE WOUND UP WITH 60 WHITES 1 CRAPPIE AND 2 SMALL CATS. WHEN WE STARTED HOME I WAS STILL SWEATING THOUGH. IF IT HADNT BEEN FORE CATCHING FISH SO QUICK SURLLEY WOULD HAVE MELTED! :swt: SLIDER

Slider,

Thanks for your report.

That was a great evening of fishing.

You didn't mention if there were very many fishermen.

I haven't been to the Dam for a couple of years.

Which side did you fish from, and would there be room enough for a backcast with a fly rod (need 40-50')?

How far did you have to cast to get into the Whites?

Just trying to evaluate to determine if it would be logical to attack with a fly rod.

Did you catch them on bait, or artificials like Sassy Shad or Swimming Minnows?

Any other helpful info would be apprecitated, too.

Thanks in advance for your follow-up.

WE FISHED ABOUVE THE HANDYCAP PIER. IF YOU KNOW WHERE THE ROCK PILE IS FROM THERE ALL THE WAY UP TO THE FENCE. THERE WERE TWO GUYS FISHING FORE CATS UP BY THE FENCE AND A FEW OFF THE PIER. WE CAUGHT MOST OF OUR FISH IN 2 INCH PURPLE BEETLES. I DID CATCH 4 ON A 16 OZ JIGHEAD AFTER I HAD MY LIMIT JUST PLAYING AROUND. I DONT KNOW WHY YOU COULDNT CATCH THEM ON A FLYROAD IF YOU COULD ROOLCAST, THE FISH WERNT THAT FAR OUT. I DONT KNOW ABOUT 40-50'. I WOULD HAVE TROUBLE IF I TRIED I NEAD LOTS OF ROOM. I SEE PEOPLE WADING ALL THE TIME EVEN THOUGH IT CLEARLY SAYS NOT TO. IM SURE YOU COULD CATCH THEM ON SWIMMING MINNOWS OR SASSYSHAD ALSO. I THINK WE ARE GOING UP THURSDAY EVENING. I WONT BE THERE UNTIL CLOSE TO DARK. I THINK MY DAUGHTER IS GOING TO GO TRY HER LUCK WITH ME. WE HAVE TO GET HER READY FORE KIDS DAY SAT. AT ROARING RIVER. IF YOU HAVE ANY KIDS THAT IS A HOOT FORE THEM DOWN THERE. HOPE I HAVE ANSWERED YOUR QUESTIONS IF NOT LET ME KNOW. IF YOU COME UP THURSDAY LOOK ME UP ILL BE UP AROUND THE POWER LINE THAT GOES ACROSS THE LAKE OR SOMEWHERE THER E ABOUTS. SLIDER
