Leonard, are you ever going to show/describe the pms?

Never had a woman in your life, there, Web? :=D::=D::=D:

Everyone send me $500 and as soon as I have half a million in the bank, I'll post a picture of the PMS... :woohehe:

(Don't worry, Leonard... you'll get a cut... 5 percent.... )

Here is a little known fact: It was first called MCD.

The reason that the term PMS was used was because there was already another disease that was named "MCD". Mad Cow Disease

I don't think my wife could catch fish during that week.

Not to pry, Michael, but what's the ailment. Between the lot of us, we've probably had just about everything.

hey Leanard,

what's the best time to chase the big browns moving up (pre spawn) behind the dam?

i'm thinkin mid november...it's a pretty far drive for me so i would like to hit it when it's good

would be glad to hook up with you and 'compare notes' so to speak if you would be up for something of that nature.

i've caught several big browns on the rivers at night but never have night fished taney...would consider it a treat to have the local 'night pro' along...might avoid stepping in over my head in the cold, lol.

thanks bm

BM...

this has been Just my way of thinking...

mid-late sept.. brown are on te move to the spawning gounds... and there are going to be hungry... (if you looking for the pounds!!)

oct.. they are everwhere.. but the biigest Ive have caught in a row would be last week Oct-first week Nov (again.. if you looking for the pounds)

now running into mid of Nov- end of the year.. the brown are starting to move back down stream to their holding areas for the next 7-8 months till it is time to do it again..

Thanks much Leanard,

sounds about right...figure if anyone you would know.

does the dam accomodate the spawn with decent water for any particular period or is it still hit a miss with the water flow.

do you think these new stairs will make any difference in the amount of water released in the upper section this year?

in the rivers neither of these has to be considered as much.

thanks bm

I would say with the water they have run this year that the browns will move up a little earlier than normal. I have had my best days fishing for the pre-spawner's in the 1st and 2nd week of October. For us waders the best place to fish is down by Point Royal. When the fish come up they are a little picky but after they start their thing they have one thing on their mind and it sure is not eating.

After a couple of weeks of this they will start to get hungry and then all hell will break out with the big fish being caught every where. With the amount of water they have been running this year I would say that the best time to fish will be the last 3rd and the 4th week of October.

The last couple of years it has been late as in to the month of November, I have to account this to the amount of water they did not run do to the drought conditions that we were in.

Michael

The fish come last to the corp. What they will do is monitor the DO level and when it gets below 4ppm they will shoot O2 the into the water when it come through optimum range is 6-10ppm. I have heard through the grape vine that it cost $10,000/shot.

Yes the fish ladder will create a little more flow, some of the places that are dry when the water is off will become wet. The lake level at the dam will still be 701.3 when they get everything back up and running. Will not make a huge difference though it will be nice once they get them all back up and running.
