TroutBum4wt Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Where is the KOA area and what kind of water is there during zero generation? What is the best way/route to get there? Thanks. "Where There Are Trout, There's Hope" - John Gierach
Leonard Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 the KOA is probably close to a mile (maybe just under) from the dam by water. When the water is off it is wadeable.. but has some deep pockets there is a few way to get there.. Id have to say the best way is to go the hatchery side, drive all the way to the end of the road (cant think of the name of it), its where the boat ramp is. park on the other side of the ramp and you'll see a little path... follow the gravel path, you'll walk down a set of stairs and you are on the way... stay on that path till you cross a little wooden bridge, and just past that you'll see the stairs... (NOTE: if you plan on going here at night.. walk this path a few times during the day so you know where you are going) next access, south side of the dam... come in at the rocking chair and walk your way down, point royale has an access to... but you are looking at a pretty good walk hope that helps.. TroutBum4wt Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 Thank you, Leonard. Your directions and information is very helpful. I've been hearing about KOA in the threads, but not quite sure where the heck it was or what kind of water. Thanks again. "Where There Are Trout, There's Hope" - John Gierach
