Center Punch Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 went fishing at cardiac fri night(from 7:30 p.m. to about 10:00 with a buddy. started off decent just before dark with scuds under an indicator. we each landed a couple before it got real dark. It was an overcast night with some t-storms around the area. For whatever reason, that turned them on because it was hot the whole time. I think i landed a good 20 fish from 8 til 10 and he caught half that. So far this has been the best night i had for numbers. Size was down with average of 12 inches and no fish exceeding 15 inches. He was ready to go so we decided to quit on a good note(good thing because it started storming down there shortly after) Saturday, me and jrbhc8 went from about 2:00 til 6:30? and didnt do nearly as good. A couple here and there with scuds doing the best. Didnt see alot of fish but I think all the canoes had something to do with that. Probably had 30+ canoes go by which kept the fish moving. www.troutchapters.com >>>---------->(x) Jared
flyfshn Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Sounds like a productive Friday evening! Were you fishing upstream? What were you using? Fish On! bikehikefish Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Centerpunch, That must have been you who we were talking to in front of Sturm's cabin late Saturday. I'm the guy with the yellow kayak that was camped on the gravel bar. Fishing was slow for us, we caught a few, and then Sunday morning I caught a few more using my "cicada" imitation. It is dark brown deer hair spun on a #10 with ginger hackle palmered over it. A bonus was the smallmouth that would hit it.
