jOrOb Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I got to fish today for a few hours. Had the water pretty much to myself for about an hour, then a lot of people showed up. The fishing was pretty good on one "hard" generator. I was wondering who was fishing today that I might have seen. I am the chubby (read fat) guy wearing green waders and a big red hat. I fished just below #2 and then above #2. Just curious. jOrOb jOrOb "The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me." Rev MacLean
Danoinark Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 John, You shoulda hollered today. I probably could have gotten away believe it or not. When I came back to the office about noon today, I was thinking how stupid I was for going to the office this morning... Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"

I was fishing a zebra midge (black with copper wire and bead) today and fishing about 1 foot deep and couldn't do anything wrong. I was catching them on almost every single cast. It was great. What's really funny is there was some guy shuffling today right by us and I still caught more fish than he did and he was cheating. I did have a little help from my 7x flouro. Some people say you don't need it, but I've tested it again and again and only on 7x have I cost fish on virtually every cast.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 We - ALL - need yellow longbilled hats to recognize one another onstream with satellite tracking systems. WAIT - strike that last idea completely. I wear an older long billed Simms hat and hippers this time of year when I can get away with it. I cast a yellow fly rod that is very easily spotted, and I usually end up talking on stream with other sometimes more then fishing. Unless the fishing is anything less than stellar. Oh - and I have a good-sized beard going at the moment. Darkish brown to red in color. People still mistake me for Brad Wright -- ha ha best fishes - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Rusty Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I will be there tuesday afternoon. Brian...be sure to wear that hat. Its kinda hard to describe yourself when you basically look like everyone else in the water. Hat, waders, fly rod, sunglasses, vest. See what I mean. Maybe we need to color dye our hats. LOL Russ

Dano I started to call you Dan, but I decided to go at about 0730 yesterday morning and I figured it was too short notice. Wish I had now. jOrOb I was just down from you today at the top of the rebar hole. It wasn't too crowded there. The Flouro must have been the ticket, cause I was using 6x mono and I only caught a couple on midges. Saw some other guys doing well on them as well, but I wasn't so I figured it was my tippet. Were you fishing those while the water was on? jOrOb jOrOb "The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me." Rev MacLean
