Brian Sloss Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Well, this past weekend was the fly flingers gathering and I think it was a success. All 15 people at least caught a few fish and some caught a lot using all the usual suspects as far as flies go. We bbqed and raised a little TU money with a raffle for the MidMo chapter(where I used to live). The 80 degree weather brought us a little more company for the fishing than we are used to for the weekend, but that did not seem to matter much. A good time was had by all and I was happy to be able to spend some time with some fine people. Thanks to all who came to the Eleven Point. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Brian Sloss Posted October 22, 2007 Author Posted October 22, 2007 Some pics will probably be posted on Ozark Chronicles as they took like 500 pictures. Cook did win the drawing for the rod, but graciously declined and we redrew and his buddy Kuch won the rod. Also, Matt I really want to thank you for your and Bryan's donations to the raffle, it means a lot. Hope you can come next and congrats again on the bambino, hope he is doing well. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Brian Wise Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Had a great time Brian! Gorgeous river, good company, good fishing....too sweet! I uploaded some photos to Picasa here: Eleven Point River Brian, I will get you that full res shot in the fog. Brian My Youtube Channel
Brian Sloss Posted October 22, 2007 Author Posted October 22, 2007 Brian, I glad you and Matt and the other Brian came down, I can hardly wait for that fog photo. There are too many Matt and Brians mentioned in this thread. I'm counting 4 Brians and 2 Matts, this could get confusing. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Members Morgan F. Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 Cat, Some familiar looking spots in some of the photos posted by Mr. Wise!!! Looks as though even you got to fish for a spell! Seems like a good time was had by all...wish I could have made it down...perhaps next year! Brian Wise, At least you had warm weather to withstand the "dunk"! That was a great series of shots...if you hit the "next" button fast enough is shows the moment in a great sequence of motion!! Cheers to all! Morgan F.
Members Matt Tucker Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 It was definitely a good trip. Here is a sneak peak at the unedited photos (most all were taken by Brian Wise). My apologies to missing the BBQ/Raffle that evening -- fishing was good enough we didn't take out at Turner until 6:30pm. A full blogged report of the trip will follow in the coming days on my site. --Matt Tucker =================================================== The pursuit of Ozark trout on the fly. http://www.OzarkChronicles.com ===================================================
Members Midge Posted October 22, 2007 Members Posted October 22, 2007 Brian Sloss, Gald the flies were helpful. I'm sorry I couldn't be there, but hopefully Matt R. and I will make it next year. Bryan Williams
snap Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 ...Sounds like a good time upriver !!! Down stream, the fish were biting also. Caught many fish, some 10 inches ( recent stocking I believe) most around 13....and Mark caught one 18 inches. Egg patterns bounced off the bottom worked well. It was the first trip for Joel, Cape Girardeau area, and he loved the river and the area. We had no Brians/Bryans or Matts in our group of four and got back to the cottage after dark each night.
Brian Wise Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Morgan F., It's not everyday that there is a camera handy when you take your first swim...and it was my OWN CAMERA!!! I will make that a short sequence in a slideshow, it's way too funny. Brian My Youtube Channel
