Members Flyfisher33 Posted October 29, 2007 Members Posted October 29, 2007 Anybody have any reports from Zink Dam? I drove by on my way back from Taney and it looked as though the water was still really up. Just wondering if anybody has had the chance to make it down there recently?
Okieflyfisher53 Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 I have been keeping an eye on it. It hasn't been low enough to wade for weeks. I'm hoping that will change soon. Steve
Members Flyfisher33 Posted November 1, 2007 Author Members Posted November 1, 2007 Well hopefully with this high water all this time, some stripers have moved up near the dam?
Okieflyfisher53 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Flyfisher33, They certainly have. We had low water again this weekend. I had to work yesterday but I made it down there this morning. There are still a lot of paddlefish, but we also caught stripers, sauger, drum, flathead catfish, and 1 spotted bass. One of the flathead was around 25lbs. The water is still stained, but I tied some flies with rattles in them, and that seemed to make a difference. Steve
Members Flyfisher33 Posted November 13, 2007 Author Members Posted November 13, 2007 Awesome, glad to hear you had some success down there. I really would like to make it up there some time soon, but with the water running all the time I would hate to make a trip all that way and be stuck not being able to wade. Doesn't sound like there is any pattern to it all?
Okieflyfisher53 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Flyfisher33, No, there deoesn't seem to be any pattern to the generation. I would think that it would start to drop off a little since Keystone is finally getting lower. I have been checking it daily, since I live so close. You can check the flows here http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?site_no=07164500 Steve
