MOBass Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 I started earlier than I have been lately and hit the water by 7:30A. Trout were thick around Branson. I saw one of the guides putting the hurt to the fish with the float and fly. I really need to break down and pick some up, but that means I have to buy yet another rod. Christmas is just around the corner though.... Back to fishing. I caught a few trout on a gold spoon. The silver would get followed, but they just would not eat it. I firmly believe that gold does better in cloud cover and today just reinforced that idea. Bass fishing was really good for me today. I went through cranks, spinner baits, and jigs for nothing. I fell back to the stick o and found that a twitch pause really turned the fish on. I saw several flash and charge the bait before they ate it. The grade of bass was better than my last few trips. I am sure those fish have been there and today I just figured them out better. I did get worked by a nice fish in the weeds. That fish ran straight to the weeds and made a good wrap in them before pulling off. I have been fishing the stick o on 8# and may have to beef up a little fishing near the weeds. The sick part was that Christmas music was playing at the Landing. Not ready for that yet. I may just have to sneak one last trip before the holidays. If I don't someone catch a few for me.
