trout fanatic Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Oh yeah, a week from saturday and I leave for my annual steelhead trip up to the erie tribs. So stoked, I can't stand it. Fly rod and noodle rod all ready, flies tied. Who would have thought that standing in the middle of a raging river with snot frozen to yer face could be so much fun. Hope y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving. I'll be thinkin of ya. Dale
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Have fun! We'll need pictures; lots of pictures! John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Gary Lange Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Used to do that for Smallmouths in Illinois until I moved down here. Was a lot of fun too. I also did some Steelhead fishing up around Milwaukee, Ws., but the year round fishing for the Smallies was a lot of fun. Cold but fun. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
flyfishmaster Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 TF, Which Erie Tribs are you going too? OH, PA or NY? I have made multiple trips up there as well. My cousin lives in the Buffalo area and I have fished the NY tribs on both Erie and Ontario. I have LOTS of great photos of big steelies, salmons and browns. That is ALWAYS my favorite trip of the year. Good Luck!! FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
trout fanatic Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 I am originally from Painesville, Ohio so its mostly erie tribs that I fish. Be stayin with my brother who lives in Fairport Harbor (Harbor as in he is right on Lake Erie). Yes sir, don't know what I would do without family. LOL

trout fanatic Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 Leaving at 4 AM tomorrow morning. Bad weather has forced all of the rivers out of their banks (the river I like to fish the most fishes well at between 500 and 750 cfs and is presently at approx 4600 cfs). Anticipation is still very high, will most likely fish smaller tribs till the rivers become manageable-then GAME ON. Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving will post reports and pics (have to wait till my pics come back though) when I return. Cheers Dale
davekeim Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Good luck Dale! Have a safe and fun trip! I'll be looking for those pics when you get back. Signed, Cardiac Abdito! Another Beautiful Day In The Ozarks
