Members fishonfly Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 My brother and I are planning a trip to the White very soon. We are both catch and release only and you would be hard pressed to find two more respectful anglers. I would like to get as much information as you folks are willing to give. My brother is a recent college grad and this is my gift to him. My work was me booked all over the world this summer so we are trying to get the trip in ASAP. I have the 2006 trout guide but have learned it never hurts to ask the experienced anglers in that area, you all! We able to fish all of the Bull Shoals Lake tail waters as of Monday, and since we do not keep fish, catch and release rules are not an issue. To be honest either of us of eaten a trout, stocked or wild. We fly fish only so that covers any baits rules. So I think we are good on those issues. Access point that you all are willing to provide me with would be great. Seems to the hardest part of any first trip to a river. Also any flies you all like to use. Again, thank you for the help and if you see us out there, we will have on least amount of warm clothes, being from the north we love 40 degrees. Stop and say HIi. I will make a contribution to a local FFF or Trout Unlimited Chapter as thank you for taking care of the water way. Thank you so much. Brian K. Shaffer Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 What types of flies do we need to have tied for this time of year? Anything that works in all trout waters works here.. seriously.. try them out! Is wading going to be sufficient or will a boat/float/canoe be a necessity? Wade the upper end throuought - also the Rim Shoals water, also sections of Rea Valley. What options regarding lodging do we have? Stay at Blue Ribbons offerings.. or for more money stay at Rim Shoals. Try to get in at Charlies below the Norfolk River and talk to / watch wading angler as to where they go on foot or in boat close to the dock. MORE TO COME FRIDAY - to both posts here / Hall's trip .. Brian .. Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.

Going back the first of March. Good luck <')))>< Romans 15:13
Members justfishing55 Posted February 6, 2006 Members Posted February 6, 2006 Hey FOF, Like I said, you might be better off trying another board. Try this one. They are some really nice guys, that I think can at least point you in the right direction. http://ozarkchronicles.com/forum/index.php...88f85b1f7e1ad02 Good Luck, <')))>< Romans 15:13
