retroaction man Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 went fishing yesterday around 10am. it was slow and they started generating around 11. right before 11 a green helicopter flew by, circled then landed. Is this fish n game or is this it owned privately. I highley doubt that fish n game could afford to fly around during the winter monthes for anything. also it landed right on the other side of the river from the cabin and walk in trial to the trophey area. just curious also i guess they didnt actualy generate yesterday ? the horn blew i know that much
Don Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 About thirty years ago, we gave the national guard permission to fly out and land on our property for training purposes. As a kid, when I heard them coming I would walk up to the back 20 and watch them. Could it have been them? Don May Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
retroaction man Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 nope dont think so ... only two guys come out of the woods after it landed. in civilian clothes im pretty sure it was someones private chopper. I was told it might be possible this was one of the big wigs for basic construction co. word is he likes to fly around elkins and cause trouble also. who flys a chopper in to go fishing :lol they had spin rods :drama
chub minnow Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Gary Combs, the owner of Basic Construction, flies his chopper everywhere. It is not solid green, however. How big a chopper was it?

How big a chopper was it? http://www.helicopters4hire.co.uk/media/ro...4helicopter.jpg its was very simular to this model but i think somewhat bigger, but not as big as a army helicopter. It was solid green with some type of yellow decal on it
chub minnow Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Yep - sounds like his chopper. Now that's the way to avoid that long drive to the river!

Now that's the way to avoid that long drive to the river! your telling me. i wont lie when i see a private chopper fly over then come back and hover right above me looking down at me i tend to get a little nervous. even more so when your the ONLY one out on the water ... they were just some spin fishing though no worries
hoglaw Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 One of the men may have been the one that owns the first mile or so of frontage from the dam down on that bank. You can see his house from the road over the dam if you look downstream into the woods. It's pretty much the coolest spread in the state. I'll give him grief about the helicopter next time I see him.
