The fishing was great this weekend, lots of good fish, dry fly fishing was good all weekend, I managed to catch a few real nice fish, 17" and 18" rainbows on adams and blue wing olives, but the fish today really seemed to be egg crazy, I had a couple over 4lbs that took the egg as soon as it hit the water, and several that took it so hard they hooked themselves, they were very aggressive this afternoon, here are a couple of 4lb trout I caught this afternoon, both on a #16 egg.

I did alright Saturday. I caught a huge bow on my second cast off a size 20 black W-D40. The hen was such a pig I knew it was a seven plus pound fish until I measured her. She was the fattest 20 inch fish I've ever seen or caught, at least 5 pounds. Two casts later I caught a 19 incher off a tan and purple tail GBug(the sow broke off my WD-40 when I was releasing her from the net). I thought wow! this is gonna be some day. Things slowed down a bit and the crowds moved in. I think everyone was trying out their new Christmas presents that day.

Anyhow, I hooked three other lunkers on small eggs but couldn't bring them in. I was only lunker hunting that day but larger fish seemed to bite better than stockers. I saw several large fish caught that day but not alot of action otherwise. Things slowed down as the day went along but it was well worth the trip.

There were a lot of people down, christmas break and all that stuff, and everyone enjoying a nice weekend, brrr it is cold this morning. Those little eggs did well for several guys, I sold a bunch of those little apricot fur bugs, and they work as well or better than an egg sometimes. Haven't tried a G-bug down here much, but the WD-40 is a good fly anywhere, I like mine tied a light brown for the park, or sometimes olive, both produce well for me. A black zebra midge did well all weekend, and the dry fly fishing was good everyday, lots of caddis on friday, and B.W.O's, saw caddis and midges on sat, and sunday and monday, didn't see much activity on top, but the fish were still hitting my adams and my B.W.O's, it was so windy yesterday afternoon you had to plan your casts between wind gusts, and the leaves, you would have thought all the leaves would have been gone by now.
