Could someone please explain the turning over and shad kill thing. Thanks "Where There Are Trout, There's Hope" - John Gierach
Members BuschTrout22 Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 The turning over means Table Rock turning over. What that means for taneycomo is fresh oxygen going into taney Usually during the winter months most tailwaters go through a dissolved oxygen state. Meaning less oxygen is getting to the tailwaters and the fish seem lethargic. When the lakes turn over, fresh oxygen is pumped into the tail waters, which is excellent for the trout There is a formula for CFS per part for the oxygen. I think lilley has had something posted before for the norfork tailwater. Shad kill means shad being pumped through the turbines at Table Rock dam and get killed coming through.. Someone correct me if Im wrong.
