Me and my wife are planning a trip to branson for a fishing/shopping getaway this spring. planning to come sometime between april and may, just wondering which month and timeframe would be best for some good fishin on table rock

Your best bet is around the end of April or first part of May. This is usually when most of the fish are up shallow and can be caught fairly easy. Most of the bass are in pre-spawn or spawn mode and the crappie are in spawn-post spawn looking for a meal. This all depends on the weather, usually it is nice that time of year, then again, I have seen it snow in April! Good luck, hope this helps.

Have to agree with Phil, mid April through mid May is best, the fish are shallow and you will catch numbers as well as having a chance at a big fish. Besides, the smallmouh bite like trained pigs that time of year! Keep an eye on this site for the reports before you come down.

Chief, I agree with the boy's! End of April we can get into some really nice pre-spawn fish on split-shot rigs, small jigs, and the early start of the spawn in some parts of the lake. But May has got to be my personnel favorite time, the big smallies really start to come to life on Shakey Jigs, Swimming grubs and small Jigs, also don't forget to snap a few stickbaits also! Have some fun and welcome to Table Rock Lake.

I only fish TableRock maybe a dozen times a year but I make a point to fish the first couple of warm days right after the dogwoods go into bloom. Wich usually happens within the last two weeks of March.

Just an Ozark tradition that was instilled by my late Gramps. He always said that was the best time of year for the Rock. Not sure what the science was behind it, or if it was just folk lore, but I hold up the tradition to this day and do well. Although, I cant say as I have ever had a bad day, when ever the month on Table Rock.
