Dave Cook Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Black & Yellow 1/16 oz jigs work great or an 1/80 olive jig under a cork. Dave Cook Missouri Trout Fishermen's Association - Kansas City
Paola Cat Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Andy .... I see most of the spinning tackle guys using Glo Balls (white, peach, red, apricot), Egg Paterns (same colors as the glo balls), (Fur Bugs (same colors as the glo balls), Mini Jigs (john deere, brown roach, bedspread), and Marabou Jigs (1/100 and 1/80 black-n-yellow, olive, white). Use a split shot to get them down in areas of current. Can be used with/without strike indicator. PC Cheers. PC
mhall02 Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 I use 1/16 oz singe hook Rooster Tail spinners, 1/32 oz marabou and/or crappie jigs (white kills em). You can get a 10 pack of the white crappie jigs at Wal-Mart for under $1.50, use 2lb test or 4 if its a little murky. Good luck!!
Members FlatCat Posted February 2, 2008 Members Posted February 2, 2008 Try a gray woolie on a silver spinner...That's my go to bait when spin fishing Bennet or try a John Deere jig under a float. Brent
Snow Fly Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 FYI I was there last Monday and a spin fisherman was nailing smallies on a Rooster Tail. At the time I talked to him he had already landed app. 20 smallies. This was in zone #3 in some of the slow deeper water just the river side of the whistle Bridge. "God gave fishermen expectancy, so they would never tire of throwing out a line"
Trout Stalker Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Black and yellow, white, John Deere (green with yellow eyes) jigs. Also black, olive, and ginger wooley buggers. TS
