Members itsdesignateddave Posted February 14, 2008 Members Posted February 14, 2008 This will be my first trip down when shorts are not appropriate fishing attire. I recently purchased my first fly rod as well, so I won't be doing much of that, but I will give it a try at some point. What colors and baits have been working off the dock lately? I will be coming down Sun-Thurs, and it appears it is going to be near 60 on Wed and Thursday, maybe a good chance to get out a boat or try some fly fishing in the trophy area as well.
LASGTA88 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 well white and char have always worked for me.. our group seems to have a lot of luck off the dock with corn.. man less than 24 hours and i will on the road headin that way for Fri thru mon.. wish my group had tues off like i do lo l LA
ryan Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 If your flyfishing then try scuds and midges just experiment with color. Stop by any one of the flyshops around branson and the staff is pretty good about helping you find the right flys along with instructions on presentations and tips. If it's breezy out try softhackles and cracklebacks they can be a ton of fun to fish. Hope you have a great day and catch a bunch.
LASGTA88 Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 man ill be lucky to get any sleep tonight lol.. leaving at 5:30 and headin to my dads farm in Kingsville, MO then head on down.. should be there around noon with a stop at Peggys for breakfast and Osceola of course lol LA
flyfshn Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I am coming down also. My neighbors family owns a condo and I am tagging along with his family....except one of his daughters is staying with my wife and daughters. We will be in a white suburban, fishing from Fall Creek up to the dam.......and I will be wearing one of my OAF hats. If you see us, feel free to introduce yourself. And bring your fly rod!!!
