soggyfeet Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I was glad to see Jr leave the DEI umbrella. I think he is finally becomeing his own man(not his fathers image). From what I watch and had watched in years past Jr is a better sportsman than his dad. The old man would bump, wreck or crash anyone on the track and say its raceing. If someone did that to him he was all over the press complaining about the dirty tactics the winners or anyone that finished before him did. I dont think I have seen JR doing this and hopefully with two champion team mates he will do better than he did with the evil DEI. Brian

"Rubbing is Racing" You know that racing is seen differently now than when Sr was racing, right? Now, they penalize you if you bump someone, while then, you could wreck someone for the win. Then it was considered ok, now it is forbidden to have a personality besides the corporate kiss-butt that NASCAR wants to see. The drivers I like, are not above bumping, wrecking, or rubbing for a win. People need to realize that racing is different now, it has the most sponsorship of any pro sport in this country, and because of that, these sponsors want to see their cars finish the races, not end up wrecked because they pissed someone off by cutting them off on lap 54. "I'm not sure you have been following he saga very closely. If you had, I am quite confident you would not have wrote that." Chief, all Jr wants is to live up to his father's legacy. Driving for Hendrick, he will not get that. his talents are not where his father's were. he is much more marketable, and on a team where his father created it for HIM, he had creative abilities beyond what Hendrick will allow. Had he stood up to his self righteous (b****) of a step-mother, he could have ran the show over there, but he wanted to leave there to run for a championship with Hendrick. So, yes, he deserves all of the blown motors, all of the bad luck, and more wrecks this year than last. I have never been a Jr fan, and this whole thing has made it worse. I see him as someone who would rather take his 17 wins to Hendrick to try to run with Jeff and Jimmie, than try to build the team his father built into a contender. I cannot stand people like that. drew03cmc Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I have never claimed to be a JR fan, but I do follow NASCAR very closely, and I know his stepmother is a selfrighteous hag. I just feel that he should have stayed at DEI and continued to fight for majority ownership of his dad's company...but hey...not my life. I am however THRILLED to see Jeff and Jimmie having a crappy year (for them) and seeing Jr running well at Hendrick, but the thing I am the most happy with are Greg Biffle and Kyle Busch...I have followed Biff since he was the Busch champ, sorry the Nationwide champ...haha. The thing that first endeared me to Biff was a race in 2002? I think it was he lost his clutch and still ran top 15 at a track where you have to shift...it was amazing. Kyle, I love his attitude...the sport needs something like this who is YOUNG and outspoken, rather than a multitime champ and outspoken, then gets mad when he gets berated by the media (Tony). Well, whatever...I am glad we are racing again, and am excited for the upcoming merger of ChampCar (without their feature driver) and IRL (No Danica you should not be in the IRL, outside of qualifying, you cannot take the heat of running top 10). I cannot wait for the first Indy 500 with 30+ cars in years! Andy
Members Ten In Posted March 29, 2008 Members Posted March 29, 2008 Well I am a 48 Jimmie Fan....His first nascar race was mine and the friend that I was watching with is a diehard 24 Jeff Fan..so for the the compation I had to choice another Hendrick Car...Glad to see 88 Jr. on the team. he is doing good! but hang on Hendrick will find how the toys got the extra hp. and the season is young!! Next year I look to see 20 Tony on the Team He loves Chevys, if Mears does not pick up and do some good for the team.
Members Ten In Posted March 30, 2008 Members Posted March 30, 2008 Hendrick! Rules!! We are on the way watch out!! I think 5 mears reads this page... but tony is still there...but wants a chevy.....smile Good Job 11 ! show the dodge power!! But which Team lead the most laps?????????????? come on Texas!!!!
drew03cmc Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Good Job 11 ! show the dodge power!! ???? He drives a Toyota. Next, Hendrick rules? You mean the yankees of NASCAR? Trying to buy wins, well, guess what....1 win in how many races this year? HAHAHAHA! It makes me laugh to hear Jr Nation crying after Kyle wrecked Dale Jr in a RACING INCIDENT (no malicious intent). I am happy for Kyle Busch, essentially telling Hendrick to shove it for letting him go. He is THE BEST driver in NASCAR right now. I love his attitude, as well as his uncanny knack for pissing people off. (steps down from soapbox) Andy
hfdhoosier Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 The difference is: you don't hear the Hendrick fans whining about everyone else winning. Last year everyone was whining about Hendrick always winning. We can accept a below average year without resorting to rooting against any other driver. Hendrick will rebound, cream always rises to the top. As for Kyle Bush, he can drive a racecar. Just a little out of control for my liking. flyfshn Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 HFD you are too nice......I think what you meant to say is he will get his!! Not a JR fan, but eventually the drivers are going to get enough of the little man and they will take care of him. Fish On! Mike Utt “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. drew03cmc Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Did any of you watch NASCAR 15years ago when things like that were accepted as RACING incidents. Dale Sr wrecked more cars than anyone I ever saw, and yet he was loved and adored. I love double standards as they apply to favorite drivers, as opposed to someone who gets loose and wrecks a "favorite". Gotta love this world. Andy
