Cody Smith Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Water TEMPs dropped 4-6 degrees over the past week with the colder air and wind that was ushered in. Needless to say the bite did not improve. The positive side of this situation is the feeder arms are now 1 or 2 tenths warmer than the mouths of the rivers. This will push game fish on up the arms. We got almost 2"'s of rain the past two days so this should bring the temps back closer too where they need to be. I'll be reporting soon, hopefully with more positive information. Please e-mail or post if you have any question's about our area or would like to set a guide date for the upcoming spawn. Trout Troller Cody S. Fishhand Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Hey Trout Troller, Thanks for the report. I was wondering if you could divulge some information...I'm in serious need of a hybrid and / or striper bite...I assume it's too early for the Greers Ferry hybrids to be running, but, I was wondering, if friends and I come down there, what tributary holds the most consistent runs of hybrids. I've never fished there and I don't even know where to begin researching. We'll be fishing out of a river jon w/ fly rods, so, we'll probably need some flow. Just would like to find out about a good stretch, not your honey hole...just a good stretch. Thanks and good fishin'. Jim
Members catD6Rdozer Posted March 10, 2008 Members Posted March 10, 2008 I live here. Troller gave you some good info. I however would run up to Choctaw area. You can bet on hybrids and whites already being in there. They were and have been every year by this time. You have to go through the little cut by the launching area into the bay where the creek runs into the lake. Its usually stacked with fish by now.. and its a very short boat ride...good luck.. its always hit and miss with them... >> unless its the third week of October..lol... then its on like a chicken bone..<
