Fishing Buddy Don House Posted February 27, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted February 27, 2008 tkite sorry bud, I know there is always something out there that cost money! But these are really cool and worth every penny. Smaller units 797c2 are coming down in price I seen some on the net for around 800 - 900 better than the cost of my big one 997cSI at over 2000.00. gabe Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I have a Lowrance 520 on the bow and the dash. Really like the units and still trying to figure everything out. Just bought a DVD tutorial and hopefully it will make me a little more proficient with the unit.
jay bird Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 Alright Don you are pulling the grand right out of my pocket with the more pictures up put up, they are Awesome. I do have a question about the mounting of the Side imaging transducer on the boat. I have a 20ft Lowe Deck boat that is Aluminum. I have a family that loves the lake so can not own just a fishing boat. I have read on some other sites of people having a little difficutly mounting one on a aluminum boat. Any comments. Also if I do get one I will have to take you up on the trip you offer for the training on how to use these units. Keep posting the pictures they are great and I think every one else likes them to.
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted February 29, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted February 29, 2008 Jaybird, glad you like all of the pictures, more to come. Also I will be doing an 997CSI install today on my new boat and it is Aluminum, should not be a big deal at all. If I run into any issues I will let you know. Good Fishing Capt. jay bird Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 I noticed last night after I put up my post that you run a G3 this made me fill better about the mounting. I am about 99% sure I will pick one up. I am looking at the 700 series. I looked at bass pro shops, but there price seems a little high, but if it comes with the upgraded GPS software it would not be that bad of price. Let me know about the mount job, you should have a great couple of days to try out the new toy, I mean fishing tool.
