I bought some 1/80th and 1/100th ounce jig heads. Just happened to be a proud owner of John Deere tractor so I had the paint. I sprayed the heads with 2 light coats of JD Green. Also happened to have some JD Yellow and painted little eyes with a toothpick. Once they dried I tied in a "short" olive marabou tail, palmered some medium olive chenille and viola a John Deere Mini Jig!

Personally I think the success in this little gem is the combination of the olive green and the yellow eyes. I have noticed if they did not have the eyes my bites were not as frequent. You can also add a little pearl crystal flash in the tail for effect!

BTW, fluorocarbon leader can't hurt either!!

I have about 6 of the "Johne Deere" jigs but never caught a fish on those. How do you fish those?

feeling better in my neck. It's not bad standing but It hurts to drive very far. Hopefully I'm ok to go in a couple of weeks.
