Members littlemiamijeff Posted April 29, 2013 Members Posted April 29, 2013 Hey guys I'm not new here on OA, but I live in Cincinnati, OH so I don't post much. I've done well below Bagnell dam in the tailwaters, and will be spending Memorial Day week at Lilly's Landing next month. I am an addicted tailwater junkie, and wondered, as I look at the Google pics of Powersite tail water, where would you park to fish the turbine boils from the bank, or do you access this from boat only? I can put the yak in and paddle to that little island, depending on water levels. What levels do you have the best results? I have a penchant for stripers and hybrids, but I understand walleyes, and trout, can be caught at this tailwater as well? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and God Bless! LMJ Here's one of my Bagnell Dam wipers:
Members dixie_devil86 Posted April 29, 2013 Members Posted April 29, 2013 If I believe correctly there is a park a little further down from tailwaters you can park or if the water is down you can park pretty dang close to the dam itself. The last time I was down there that is what I did. I have only fished it once or twice however. Heard a lot of good stories of fish being caught there. Good luck!
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 To be honest it's too early to really advise you. The lake is rising and where it will be when you arrive is unknown. The dam only generate when Table Rock runs water. You can fish it from a kayak and you can always launch from the west side and paddle across to the current seam, if it's running. The island is the "Rockpile" and it may or may not be visible. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

emjay Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 you can only fish so close to the dam. they have a line hanging across that says you cant cross over. you can launch anywhere with the canoe. i've seen people launch on both sides before. if you can get to the rockpile, hit it where the fast current breaks with the calm water. that should put you on some fish, maybe even a BIG striper.
