After reading Bigmagic's blog, I thought I'd post on the catfish forum and found it to be closed!! Well it's open now!

Got out for a couple of hours mid day today. Took Scott Brown and his grandson up to Short Creek and dunked some night crawlers. Ashland caught a couple of nice rainbows including this colorful male. They were midge alittle and I caught one on a zebra but they were picky. They ran water for most of the morning today and at 3 pm they blew 2 horns and now I see the water moving pretty good out in front of the dock. 4 pm - I went back out for an hour or so. Water was still moving pretty good but I called and they had shut down. I boated to Short Creek and anchored, throwing a soft hackle and then a crackleback with only one strike. Then I drifted a zebra and then a scud with a couple of hookups. the water slowed to hardly no current and they started to midge here and there. I tied on a loop wing olive #22 and floated it in the really shallow water close to the creek's mouth and finally caught a rainbow. Tied on a soft hackle and caught a couple more rainbows out over the bar. The horn blew twice about 5- at 10:30 pm they are still running 2 units at 706.0.

Well... as you can see I'm playing with the backend of the forum. I'm hoping I don't blow it up from the inside! I mean I've been looking at some of the editing features of the forum and they read like greek- but I'm seeing some sense in places and tried plugging in the counters which worked. I don't like the way they look presently but in time, I'll have the board looking sharp! But it won't be by hand I'm sure. Anyhow- the counter(s) have not been counting on the forum till now. On the old OA site, I got as high as #2 but they were counting hits differently at that time. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of hit count shows up now and how high we'll get. I say we cause it's all of ya'll site- you're the ones who's clicking the clicker.

You gotta a big wide, pretty flat boat... it's almost on plane before you start!! My only point is that you have to consider "starting power" (hard coming up with a phraze for it) when considering a 2 or 4 stroke engines. I'm not knocking either. If I had my druthers... I'd go with a 4 stroke too.

I've been asked about the hunting trip- 6 of us including my son Caleb (19), my dad, my father-in-law and 2 friends from church went out to Greensburg, KS and hunted south and north of Mullinville, 30 miles this side of Dodge City. We saw lots of pheasant and brought home 29. Also saw quail which we didn't shoot at much... I can't see throwing #4 shot from a 3-inch mag shell- makes a mess of a small bird at close range. Lots of deer and beauticul weather and sunsets- best trip in years for us. Hope to go back before the end of the month.

Under the cleaning shack... It's going to be in and out so keep checking back if it's not working. We're still dealing with hardwiring issues as well as software issues but it will be up later for a couple of days... hopefully.
