  1. Thanks for the update Dano. See what your tax dollars will be used for. Hand shake deals in the back rooms. This is such a slap in the face to all who fish these waters.
  2. As Phil stated, but with an addtional note. Prop pitch, or the degree of angle, cup on the blades will get want you want. The thing is though, it is like buying a fly rod. You have to try them out to find what works. Most boat dealers should be able to get you close to the correct pitch for what you want.
  3. Confirmed, you can use trout as bait in both Oklahoma and Tennessee. Slot and length limits along with creel limits apply. However, in Tennessee you can purchase trout to use as bait, but you must have receipt proving you purchased them. Not proud of it though.
  4. Jerod Beaver Tailwater is a good place to go. If the trout fishing is not happening, go above the dam and use dry flies for the perch that hang out around the swimming areas. I had a blast doing that last year. Also, if the wind is blowing right, you might be able to catch some white bass off the points there too.
  5. As far as I know they do, as does a state East of you drbewley. How else are they going to catch stripers on the Illinois.
  6. We had the pleasure of having Bill Butts speak at our monthly meeting last night. He talked about the temperate bass. This guy knows his business. If you ever have the chance to make it to one of his programs, I would highly recommend it. It was very good. Thanks Bill. Rusty
  7. Nothing cheap about fly fishing, sorry to say. Have you fished Beaver tailwater? What about Norfork, White? And then there is always Taneycomo. All these places have camping facilities.
  8. My thoughts exactly.
  9. Oh, that brings back memories. Sturgis, Smokey Mountains, Rocky Mountains, Daytona. Nice looking scooter, BTW.
  10. LostMyWife lost his flies again. Shame on him.
  11. I wouldn't hold my breath on this. This is just a hiccup in the process. It could take years before anything happens. Delaying the outcome, is for sure, in the best interest of Homeport. Skeptic I guess, but I hope not.
  12. I just read this on http://www.midcurrent.com I wonder if this will happen to BD. New York City Fined $5.2 Million for Muddying Esopus According to the Associated Press, "The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to hear an appeal from New York City in a lawsuit by sportsmen and environmentalists upset over silty water added to an upstate trout stream that carries part of the downstate water supply." Some reports, however, indicate that the muddying of the Esopus may continue since some sort of permit was issued in response to a challenge by a coalition of fisherman and clean water advocates. 13. Bring your stuff. You won't be disappointed. For information about March fishing, go to the heading Ozark Lakes. Then go to Lake Taneycomo. Next go to Lake Taneycomo Archives, pages 17-19 should have the information you are looking for.
  14. Happy Birthday. It is going to be a great day.
  15. I wonder if they ever feel as though they are beating their heads against a wall, but never show signs of it. I experienced job burnout after working for a company for 15 years. By then it was just a vapor trail, not much left to burnout.
  16. Get ready, here it comes. http://www.joplinglobe.com/local/local_story_061234524.html
  17. Bill_Butts, keep up the good work. I for one, appreciate your contribution to OAF. Thanks for all your replies to my PM's too.
  18. Chainsaw, waders, and of course food and drink.
  19. Arkansas...Arkansas'...Arkansas's This could be where all the money for fixing the Norfork tailwater has gone.

  21. The only reason I ask, my great uncle use to run it back in the 70's and 80's. Skeeter was his name and he was a really cewl dude. The man was legally blind and could hit a ball better than most with 20/20 vision. He wanted me stay a couple of summers with him so he could teach me the game. That never happened, sorry to say. I can remember going there with my parents, but to this day I can't tell you how to get there. I sure do miss him.
  22. Are there any golf courses around Shell Knob?
  23. I would not be able to do it. However, we do buy state licenses and stamps, so I guess you could say we are doing it now. But at a much less price.
  24. I have been looking around on the net, and have located several pay to fish on private property locations. My question is would you pay a yearly fee of, lets say, 500.00 - 20,000.00 and up, a year to be able to join one of these clubs?
  25. Thanks Michael.
