Laker, Pretty tuff sight fishin with water that stained. Someday you and I will have to meet up and I'll show you what a midge is. Craziest little things you ever did see. I'll try to post up a quick report before I head out to OH.

Laker, Did you try rolling midges on the bottom??TBH midges usually bounced along at the heads of holes produces pretty well in above normal levels with stained water. I'd be willing to bet that will produce quite a few fish.

Pat, If I get my taxes done and my plates taken care of for the pop up I may be down Saturday or Sunday. I'm flying home tonight so I can do round 2 of the Ohio job. I gotta leave super early Monday morning so I might just try Saturday.

I ended up not going Jerry. I woke up Sunday morning with a splitting head ache and body aches. I thought I was coming down with something so I stayed home. Today I feel fine but I am catching a flight back to Vegas to finish up that job. Hopefully when I get back we can hook up and do some fishing.?

Hope there's something left around there after the twisters. Have funn Pat. Maybe when I get done with Hoover we can all get a day to get everyone together.

I should be down in the morning for a day of much needed fishing. Been on the road for over 3 months now and I have a couple of days to hit it. Then its back to Hoover dam to wrap it up.

Ha!!! The only spillway I was near was the Arizona overflow spillway today Pat. It has to get about another 50+ to spill anything over that. I'm flying home tomorrow and then off to a week long job in OH. Hopefully I can swing down for a day of fishing before I head back out here to finish up this job. If not it will be sometime in April for me.

Looks like I'll be home Friday evening. Then I head out to OH for a week or so Sunday afternoon. That leaves Saturday open. LOL I may get a wild hair and do a Bonsia run to Bennett for the day. That is if I can get my taxes done and catch up on 2 months of mail Friday evevning. LOL I am definately open for an early get together, as soon as I know what the plan is for this spring when I get home from this job here at Hoover Dam. Right now it looks like somewhere around the 15 of April.

Hard to steer clear of someone that gives you no choice. Just use the locally run places as much as possible and you can steer clear of him as much as possible.

Well Jerry, If I was home I would sure try to make it. But it looks like I'll be here for another month or so. There was some talk of me flying home and going to OH and then back here after that short job. Hopefully I'll be able to get a couple of days off when I get back and then I'll hit the stream.

I always liked the idea of interchangeble soles but was skeptical of durability issues. I bought a pair of their Metalheads and I am completely sold on them. I figured sooner or later the rule was going to make it here to MO. In CO they had a deal where you could bring in your old felt soled boot for a discount on non-felts. I should have bought a pair while I was out there last year. After fishing with these boots I will have a hard time switching to anything else.

Jerry, Unless it is brutally cold I will be down the Monday after X-Mas day. We fly back this Thursday afternoon and I may even hit it Friday too. I think we have to be back out here the 3rd of Jan so I will go down with my bro on the 30th too. Hope you can make it down.

Hey Pat, Sorry about the bad news. If I get home for X- Mas I may try to get my brother to get down there for a day. I was planning on making it down before I left for Hoover Dam but that went out the window. I am thinking we will leave out here the 22nd I think, and come back after the 1st of the year. I remember an officer of the law saying something about a "Blue Flame Syndrome", that could be the cause. It had something to do with being a young cop trying to prove something. Could be the case.

I still have this rod collecting dust. I have had a couple of people ask about it but nobody came through. I'll take $375.00 for it locally. I plan on hittin C@R in the next month so if I'm down at Bennett or Montauk I can bring it along if you would like to cast it.

They will not be happy till the whole place looks like a city park and everyone can stand from the bank and chuck powerbait. I think sometimes they are trying to drive away people that have enjoyed this place throughout the years. We still have Montauk and the blue ribbon areas left but I'm afraid if they had it their way those places would look like a trout park does now.

I have been using the Seaguar Grand Max FX. It is supple and small diameter. Great stuff in my opinion, and I have tried them all. Usually with all the others I would get a bad spool once in a while. The Seaguar stuff I have been using for the last couple of years has not given me a bad spool yet.

Did you use the one with tails or the other one?? I can only figure that I must have developed a certain knack for seeing the strike Pat. I can give you or anyone else that midge on my rod and they just don't seem to do as well as I do. My eyesight is not that great anymore either so that can't be it. Whatever it is I am glad I have picked it up. I need to start fishing more with dry flies or at least fishing with a dropper. Fishing nymphs and BH midges gets a little mind numbing after a while. Maybe I can get down there again soon as my trip to AZ got put off so I can stay in MO to run a job in Hannibal.
