  1. You guys have a nice site here. I am still looking around here and it may take a while to look through everything. While I love my area, its nice to see what other people are doing and tying for different parts of the country. I recently had contact with one of your members, Max Drown. Really Nice guy. Keep up the good work here. As for other hopper patterns, it's hard to beat the parachute hopper that has been around for quite a while. It has caught lots of fish and is highly visible. It's flotability is good, if treated libearly with floatant. Juan
  2. Hey guys, I am the man behind the fly. Thanks for posting it here. You can also tie this fly in smaller sizes to get a smaller hopper or even a cricket. I tie them down to about size #12. Gavin a rip-off of the Pink Pookie? Really? Yea I guess so, it has foam, hair and a hook, so I guess you could say that it is a rip off! Honestly, I didn't even know about that fly until recently. In essence every fly bears resemblances to others. This is one I have been working on for some time and have it almost where I like it. Tie some up and give them a try. They are fun to fish and really fun to throw later in the year when hoppers are all around. I love to throw them on the Arkansas River here in Colorado and the South Platte River in Cheeseman Canyon. I often drop a dropper off the back end and usually catch the majority of fish on the dropper. When they are really looking up, I just fish with a hopper on top. Juan
