  1. Yes there are no lenght restrictions on crappie at Fellows and there are a LOT of small crappie in that lake. I have seen some very nice crappie however, 14-16" but the shorts far out number the decent ones. I usually do not crappie fish fellows lake much because i can't catch any good crappie without fighting through the small ones and the bluegill.
  2. Where are these flats that everyone fishes for walleyes? I usually fish from cedar ridge to around the maze creek area and do fair catching walleye of points, but have never fished any flats. I just got my motor tuned up and can finally troll some baits and would like to try these flats if someone could give me some pointers on where to go and what techniques to use. Thanks!
  3. Yes my parents still live out in near Dadeville and they heard they will be shutting both down at the same time, but i'm not sure when.
  4. Just so you know they are supposed to be working on the twin bridges north east of Greenfield after they finish the 32 bridge.
  5. What part of the lake where you on? I'm going to try to go this weekend and catch some eyes and crappie.
  6. I have a 14' v hull i need of teleflex steering system. I would really like to avoid getting a new system and having it shipped out here and thought someone may have an old boat they took one off of or would like to get rid of. Cable lenght would probably need to be from 10-14' in length. Thanks!
  7. White Roster tail, or white roadrunner with a silver/white swimming minnow.
  8. I love the crappie nibbles. If i am fishing jigs and things are slow i will put a pink one one the jig hook and it will usually get me some good crappie. My favorite setup is a lime roadrunner 1/8 oz with a pink crappie nibble.
  9. We got to Maze Creek at around 8:30 and fished until a little after 11:00. Tied off in 21ft of water and set them a little off the bottom. Caught a few short crappie and 2 keepers. We were starting to get a lot of bites but my battery was dying and we got into a huge school of White Bass at 11:00. They usually school with Crappie and make it hard to catch crappie, so we headed home. At least i know i can get in there and catch some, just need to avoid all the white bass...and remember to charge my battery. Thanks for the tips guys, and Gobbler hope you had some luck last night as well.
  10. Gobbler, Sounds good, i'll be in a small aluminum v'hull with my wife. We usually have pretty good luck in Maze Creek when Crappie fishing, but we haven't been at all this year. Usually we tie up at around 25' of water and you can move in or out as needed for depth. We usually get close to 2 limits but i hear its been rough this year so we'll see. Hopefully we'll cya there.
  11. Going to night fish Crappie tonignt probably in Maze Creek. Has anyone had any luck lately? How deep? Any suggestions would be great! I usually sit in timber around 20-30 ft and have pretty good luck, but some friends have said the bite has been kind of off this year. Thanks!
  12. Stockton Lake can be very dangerous in storms. The lake is so flat on the bottom that there is nothing to break those big waves. I got caught last summer in my 14' V bottom and it was scary to say the least. We had to cross the main lake at Cedar Ridge with 25-30 mph winds and it was a pretty wild ride. If any storm is on its way near Stockton lake it is always a good idea to hit the road.
  13. Were you using blacklights and flourescent line?
  14. THey have done some changes to the website, they probably haven't got the map upload yet.
  15. Wondering if anyone is having any luck catching crappie or walleye right now. I was thinking about taking the boat out this weekend, but haven't had much luck the last few times. I haven't had a lot of time to fish lately and just trying to get a feel for what's working before I head out again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Zac
  16. How much are you asking for it?
  17. Straw, Sounds like a nice day. Far from what i had. I hurried home to work on my boat and get it ready to fish tonight. The steering system i got from a friend didn't even come close to fitting, so i moved on to rewiring my running lights, trolling motor, and fish finder. Got half way done and ran out of connectors. Decided to run to the Depot and get some minnows and fish anyway...trailer lights didn't work. So drove all the way back to Springfield and now I'm just going to go to bed. Guess I'll try it again tomorrow. Are crappie and walleye still biting good? It's been about 3-4 weeks since i have had a chance to get to the lake. Zac
  18. Do you know where to get the handles from? I have found some new controls like mine but there are around 200.00 and all i need is the handles. I asked Sports Boats USA in Ozark and they couldn't get any. I'm considering buying a used control box like mine off of Ebay. THanks for your help
  19. I need a control box for a 62 Johnson 40hp. It has 2 levers, one for throttle and one for forward and reverse. Mine has broken handles and is very difficult to use on the water. Let me know if you have anything that might work. Thanks! Zac
  20. Go for it!!! Its been so hot and dry here if it rains at all it won't last long enought to ruin your trip. We got rain last weekend but it only last 30 mins or so.
  21. I don't know of any place on stockton to bowfish, but if you want gar, I fish little arm of the James River just south of Rivercut Golf Coarse in southwest Springfield and I typically see around 10-20 gar everytime I go down there.
  22. Fished mouth of Maze Creek from around 6-10pm tonight and did pretty well. Wanted to night fish crappie up the creek but my lights were giving me trouble so I left when it got completely dark. Fished with roadrunners and nightcrawlers and caught 2 keeper crappie and a nice 30" channel catfish. Caught a few keeper Largemouth but most of them were around 12", fun to catch and release though. Walleye and catfish were in about 10-12 ft of water, and the bass were suspended around 8 ft down in around 15-20 ft of water. Wish I had more to report but didn't have a lot of time, but like always was a fun night. Hope this helps someone. Zac
  23. There is no dock to leave your boat at, at Cedar Ridge. Most people just anchor south of the beach swimming area on the sand bar and swim. The sand extends about 50 yrds past the beach area and should hurt your hull. Its pretty shallow so getting in and out of your boat shouldn't be to hard.
  24. Where are you located? have any photos?
  25. German Shepherds are great as well, I've had them my whole life and currently have a pure black 2 yr old. Once the know a home they will protect it and their owners, but very gentle with us. He falls asleep with my wife on the couch almost every night, but if someone goes walking through our yard they he hurries them along quite well.
