I am by no means defending him he can do that all by himself. I was merely pointing out that Trav didn't write a long winded peice yet his name was envoked into the conversation. You don't seem to read what I post either. I clearly stated that he has not posted an "Essay". That is ok though. I understand you need to put someone down....All this wasted energy, you could be fishing instead and posting reports. You seem to rather brow beat people if they don't agree with you. I have things to do now and am done with you and this thread. I think it is time you find something better to do with your time.

I didn't say anyone dragged Trav into this. What I DID say is that his name was. As far as putting his nose in it, this is a public forum, and I didn't see your invite to put your nose it it either but yet here you are. As a matter of fact, Trav hasn't even weighed in on the topic, not because he doesn't have an opinion on it, but because he doesn't think it is worth it. Someone has already stated the case, so why rehash it. So he made comments to the reflect the fact that it is getting out of hand. I was only suggesting that, even without him making an "essay" someone felt the need to make reference to him. No one is going to change their mind either way, so all you are doing is beating a dead horse. Let it go people. Maybe we can get back to more civil posts.

I have spent the better part of my day RESEARCHING the effects of lead fishing gear. All the investigations I have found on lead fishing gear have to do with birds. I could find nothing in regards to the fish specifically or any direct link to the water habitat. Not enough research has been done on lead fishing gear and the effects of it on fish or the environment. Yes there are generalizations but that is not a true investigation. I believe that there are effects; however I don’t think they are significant. Here is a link to one study that I found… nwhc.usgs

Thinking you are annoying is not name calling. Calling someone a numbskull is! So no, Trav does not owe you an apology. Please act like the adult you are supposed to be.

Why is it some of you guys need to resort to name calling like a bunch of children? There is no need for it. You are all supposedly adults so act like it.

Just my two cents (for what it's worth) When posting reports on OAF, do you not file them under the body of water you fished? It would seem to me that if a report states what the conditions are that they were fishing, that in itself should be more than enough. You are given a general location. Besides just because a person had a good day at a "honey hole" does not mean that the next time you are in that same spot you will have any luck yourself. Heck even I have learned that because a lure worked wonders to day at bringing the fish to the boat, it isn't always the same for me the next day. If you are inexperienced then find someone who knows more and ask them to go fishing with you. I find that people here are more likely to help you out face to face. I know I am lucky (some would say UNlucky) that I have Trav to teach me the ropes. Thanks to him, I am learning a lot and catching fish not just throwing a hook in the water. You need only the conditions on a particular body not an exact location. Again, just my two cents.

Ok guys, I am asking just because I honestly don't know.....Why is fishing with worms a promblem? Leaving the trash behind, yea I have an issue with that, but as a kid all I fished with was worms. I have also seen people here on OAF mention using worms. Sorry for not knowing the anwser, but if I don't ask I will never know. Thanks

Sounds like what you are looking for may be of the Great Pyreenes breed. They are great dogs. They have the look you want with the temperment you need.

Can someone tell me how two people in a boat can use the same lures and have such different results. While Trav had a very good catch, I didn't even get a bite! I must have blinked too much or something.
