Good evening all. My name is Brandon and I like all types of fishing. I got into fly tying 3 years ago and then started fly fishing soon after. I grew up in NW Connecticut fishing for brookies, browns and now and again would catch some nice rainbows in the Housatonic. Now I live in NY and mostly fish north of me in the Adirondack park. I went to school at SUNY Plattsburgh and was introduced to fly fishing first through the May-June salmon/smallmouth fishing in the Saranac. I never caught any salmon then but always wanted to. I later began fishing smaller waters and caught my first few trout and was hooked. Last week I caught my first landlocked salmon that came out of Lake Champlain. I talked to some fishermen from Montreal and they recommended the tungsten head black stonefly nymph I had tied a few weeks prior to the trip. I am glad I tied it on for on the 6th cast I caught the beautiful fish. I will never forget it. Life has been good to me and my new job will give me summers off to fish. I look forward to spending more time on the forum and until then, happy fishing to you.
I have not downloaded the salmon pic yet but thought I would include a pic of a trout I caught 2 years ago on one of my early flies.
