  5. I am bringing my grandson this year for my annual early crappie trip. I have been coming to the lake for this for about 15 years with my son. This year granpa told the little guy he could come to if he kept his grades up and flew right. Well guess what ,the little **** went and did it.I didnt think he could. He is 10 , and loves to fish, but around here crappie are like small. blugill. I pretty sure i can get him into some good crappie and hope he has is pole tied to him and life jacket snugged when we hit the white bass. What i would like to do is put him on a couple of eyes. I dont know anything about them on TR even though i have caught a couple. Any suggestions on where to take him? I will be way up the Kings but not oposed to pulling out to put in somewhere for a day roadtrip. Viney, Eagle Rock, and up Roaring River. Will be down there easter week. Any info would be appreciated. Dont know weather this oppurtunity will happen again. Thanks in advance, Tim
  6. i would check out a pflueger president reel, on sale most places around $40 -$60, #25 or 30. they also are on sale at most big stores in a combo for $70. very good reels inspite of the price. i own several and thats pretty much all i use for anything spinning. pick a good rod and you got somthing that pretty much indistructible and maintenance free.
  7. If you don't know anything about mapping, where is the best place to start learning? I have recently bought 2hds touches w/ insight. never have done any mapping before but want to learn. rather slow minded, so would like to keep it simple.
  8. i have found that about 90% of people i have encountered are courtious and respectful and friendly. it is funny how that other 10% of s.o.b's makes you kinda forget about all the nice ones.
  9. I am curious, are there written rules of ettiquet? or just common curtesy? Just wondered. would be interesting to read. never been around too many tourney fisherman but have run into plenty of fun fisherman that had no clue about courtesy
  10. i have six gen2. ibought a gen3 and it is a good reel but other than being lighter, cant tell a whole lot of difference. i am going to takeadvantage of the big discounts on gen2 (150.00) and get a couple more.
  11. Going to come down on the 14th for a week.We will be staying way up the kings.Anyone been up there to see if anything is happening? I pretty much always have succes, but not oposed to pulling the boat out and dragging it up h to the Indian, or down to the White. Any advise would be helpfull. Thanks PS. Will probably get hungry during the week so any scoop on Crappie or Walleye would help.
