  1. I sent you a text. Or you can send pics to hero2three@yahoo.com
  2. I know some guys have both lower units and swap it out depending on the water they will be on. I doubt that I can get lucky enough to find someone with both a lower unit and a jet. There are too many options out there, boats, fiberglass, aluminum, wide, wider, bigger motor, smaller motor, prop, jet.
  3. Im now in the market for a new to me boat. It must be able to run rivers and fish on the lake (coves mainly). My first thought is a Shawnee/Supreme. But have been looking at the Blazer aluminum boats. The primary point of the boat will be for fishing. I cant see fishing with more than three people, and most of the time those other two will be my kids. What the pros and cons of the boats listed above? How about jet vs. prop. Thanks for any info you can throw my way.
  4. I have missed out on a couple of the good deals that get posted here. But I am looking for a newer 48" bottom river boat. If you have one for sale, or are thinking about selling one, please let me know at hero2three@yahoo.com. Thanks.
  5. Up for sale is a 15'6" Fishing boat, has trolling motor with foot controls, 1957 35hp electric start/choke Johnson javelin motor. Motor runs strong. Two newer batteries, Needs a little TLC (running lights hooked back up) Good trailer with lights. Asking $1200 for everything but may part it out if I can sell the motor and controls first. Email Hero2three@yahoo.com for more info. The boat is located near the west side of Bentonville. Might consider some trades, price is OBO!
  6. Good news is I woke up from surgery yesterday without any pain, except from the surgery itself. I can actually stand up and sit without any pain what so ever. My son has already asked when can we go fast and catch some fish. It may be a few months still before I can wade in the river but atleast I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  7. Like the others, Fishing is a passion. I do not go out thinking Im going to catch a world record. Even the days where the fish won, I still have a great time! My son and I refurbed a boat. It was $500 and I promise we have more fun on it than we could on a $30k boat. Even though my son is four he help with the wrenches and paint. Always wanting be right in the mix of the action. Truth be told it probably took me twice as long to finish with his help..lol. Our first trip in the water was great. Boat ran perfect, the weather was excellent and the fish never bit! Not one nibble, but on the way home my son looked at me(still wearing his life vest in the truck) and said " dad that was a great day fishing". With a recent injury that has me laying flat on my back 90% of the day I realize even more how much I enjoy fishing, and look forward to the next "great day fishing" with my son.
  8. Went below the darn today. Awesome fishing weather, no generation, and a ton of fish. For the first three hours there was only one other angler with eye shot of me.

    Montauk

Ok, that is funny! Trust me the one wife I have and three children are enough. My brother in law will be joining me for some R&R as well.

    Montauk

good advise. Thanks, Ive been fly fishing for about a year, mostly on the Beaver lake tailwaters. Main point of the trip is get away from wives and kids! It should be interesting learning about the differences from where I usually fish and Montauk.
  11. Ive got a trip planned for Montauk May 10th 11th and 12th, then again in June. This will be my first "during the week" trip. Plan on experimenting some with the fly rod, and using the old standby....bait!!! Ill take any advice on flys that you guys want to give.
  12. Send me a few pics and asking price.
  13. Im not sure if you have ever ran or worked at a marina/resort. But I can tell you from the 5 plus years I had one, is that its no retirement. If you like working 100 hours a week, fighting mother nature at every turn, and never knowing how good the weekend will be then by all means do it! You basically have 4 months to make all the money you can and hope its enough to cash flow the remainder of the year. If you can make it work and have something paid off say in 10 years then you will have a decent retirement. A ten year note on a Million dollars is 120 payments of about 10k each. But after that its all cash in your pockets!
  14. I was looking on the TFO website for a new 5wt rod. I stumbled on the "healing water" and like the idea of some of the money going to help a veteran fish. However I do not know how that particular rod is. Does any one have any experience?
